About SDF Odisha

Social Development Foundation (SDF) based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha is a non profit organisation registered under Registration of Societies Act XXI of 1860 (6975-657 of 1995-96). SDF was founded by a group of social workers from Odisha with a mission to provide primary education, vocational training, life skill education, and support to underprivileged children and women.

SDF specialises in the field of research, social work consultancy, protection of child right, livelihood promotion, women development, adolescent empowerment and elderly care activities. The organisation has extensively worked in diversified fields with the objective of social development implication through grass root experience, legal and professional touch. In addition to this, exclusive evaluation study and counselling are some of the core services provided. SDF offers family counseling, marriage counseling, and psychosocial support through its specialised counseling wing called 'SDF Prayosha'. SDF also aims to promote social work education and create a culture for professional social work among the youth.


The operational areas of the organisation are Khordha and other adjacent districts including Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Koraput, Keonjhar and Kandhamal in Odisha.​

SDF Odisha is dedicated to providing essential education, vocational training, and life skills to empower underprivileged children and women to spearhead their respective communities. SDF also wants to spread awareness about the need of the general public in everyday social work and foster a culture of professional social work among the youth of Odisha.

Our Vision

  • Enable primary education, vocational training and life skill education to reach slum children, differently abled children and the under-privileged.

  • Encourage and mobilise women from under-privileged parts of society to develop their own means of income and contribute to their communities.

  • Facilitating access to quality family and child counseling to the general public and spreading awareness regarding the need of counseling
